India, the one that always confronts you with the purest truth, the one that never forgets, the one that rejoices in seeing you, the one that never rests, the one that always inspires, the one that never leaves you indifferent… as a researcher I’ve always being captivated by India, and this is how I can present you now my personal experience as a videography: PRANAM TO YOU DANCE
India is a country that unfolds like an ancient tapestry, embroidered with threads of gold and dust, where history blends with the present in an uninterrupted symphony.
From the green rice fields of the south to the sands of the Thar in the west, India vibrates with a pulse that is simultaneously ancient and vitally contemporary.
Diversity resonates in every corner of the country: languages that change from one village to another, dresses that vary with each region, flavors that merge into unmistakable spices. Its culture is a constellation of mythologies, rituals, and everyday gestures that quietly preserve the wisdom of millennia.
Spirituality is not an abstraction: it lives in the fresh flowers offered each morning in the form of ceremony and prayer, in the sound of mantras flowing alongside urban traffic, in the eyes alight with faith of those walking barefoot toward a temple.
PRANAM TO YOU DANCE
The people of India carry the weight of the past and the urgency of the present with a mixture of resignation, joy, and courage. Women, often invisible in the simplest narratives, are silent pillars and also emerging voices, artists, mothers, workers, weavers of the everyday and of the future. Their gaze holds centuries of struggle and a serene dignity that defies any stereotype.
Art—in its humblest forms or in its palatial splendor—beats everywhere: in a handmade pendant, in a lullaby sung in Bengali, in a Rajasthani mural, in an ancient sculpture that still smells of incense. And religion, far from being an isolated dogma, is a way of inhabiting the world, of making sense of chaos, of living with death, and of celebrating life.
India is not a destination. It is an experience that glides between wonder and contradiction, between the sacred and the banal, between what is proudly displayed and what remains hidden, waiting to be seen with open eyes and a willing soul.
More than thirteen years ago, I’ve traveled to India for the first time, driven by a profound search: an original and genuine desire bound me to that country.
What began as a personal longing transformed into a life experience that changed my body, my mind, my way of being in the world and sharing my art.
Through dance, I’ve remained connected to the country and traveled every year to study classical Indian Odissi dance, which not only seeks form, but also the message: each movement connects with the gods: Shiva dancing the universe, Krishna playing his flute in the forests of Vrindavan, Durga riding a lion to destroy evil, and Ganesh, opening paths with his wisdom.
But the India I’ve discovered isn’t limited to the spiritual. It’s also the fiery land of Rajasthan, where gypsy communities like the Kalbelia dance with a power that seems to emerge from the sand itself.
India is beauty, but it’s also challenge. It’s chaos, intensity, slowness, and depth. Being there can feel like landing on another planet: one where everything is extreme, yet absolutely alive. Facing that world is also surrendering to it, letting it permeate and transform you.
A story about what happens when a life is placed at the service of art, devotion, and dedication. A life in motion: Pranam to you dance.
