Samyukta means ‘together’/’united’ in Sanskrit. Hasta means ‘hand’. The meaning of mudra is ‘sealed’ (coded and united). As you might imagine, this post deals with the mudras that bring two hands together, and as one, they have a meaning – Samyukta hasta mudra Odissi
In case you want to check the meaning of ‘mudra’ and its specific uses, you can take a look at my previous post – Asamyukta Hasta Mudra.
The listed mudras are part of the repertoire of all the Classical Indian Dances, including Odissi. We practice them both as part of the training to integrate their meaning and to include them in the choreographies.
Let’s get started!
The Samyukta Hasta Mudra category is developed in the book ABHINAYA DARPARNA
